Collierville Schools Honors 16 Educators With Tenure

Collierville Schools awarded 16 educators with tenure at the February Board of Education Business Meeting on Tuesday evening. By state law, tenure is not a “participation trophy.” It is a distinction earned through five years of hard work, consistently high evaluation scores, and the recommendations of supervising administrators. But even the state’s high bar does not capture what these educators have meant to Collierville Schools.
To thrive in this district, a tenured teacher must be more than just “effective.” He or she must be a classroom leader, a constant learner, and someone genuinely invested in the Collierville Schools community. These recommended teachers have spent the last five years proving – day in and day out – that they are committed to academic rigor, student-centered innovation, and the high level of professional integrity our families understandably expect.
