Brett Heinrich Named Principal of Collierville Middle School

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. (April 30, 2025) – Collierville Schools Director of Schools Dr. Russell Dyer is pleased to announce his appointment of Mr. Brett Heinrich as the next principal of Collierville Middle School. Mr. Heinrich, currently the vice principal at Collierville High School, will succeed Mrs. Anita Swindle, who announced her retirement earlier this spring.
"Mr. Heinrich’s extensive experience and dedication to education make him the perfect fit for this role,” said Dr. Dyer. “I am confident that under his leadership, Collierville Middle will continue to grow and thrive, providing our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the future."
Heinrich brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served in various educational leadership positions over the past decade. Arriving at Collierville High School in 2015, he served five years as an assistant principal before moving into district administration. From 2020-2023, Heinrich was the Career and Technical Education Supervisor for Collierville Schools, leading 6-12 CTE programs and K-12 STEM programs. Under his leadership, Sycamore Elementary School and West Collierville Middle School earned the Tennessee STEM School Designation in 2023. For the 2022-2023 academic year, Heinrich was named the Collierville Schools Supervisor of the Year and was a Regional Semifinalist for the Tennessee Department of Education Supervisor of the Year.
In July of 2023, he returned to Collierville High School as vice principal. In this role, he serves as the master scheduler and administration team lead, overseeing evaluations, curriculum, staffing, and communication. He also leads the counseling department and served as interim principal from February to March 2025. While serving as vice principal, Collierville High School was named a Level 5 Reward School for the 2023-2024 academic year.
He began his career in education in 2009, teaching U.S. Government, A.P. American Government, and U.S. History at Southwind High School, where he also coached baseball and football.
Heinrich graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts in Science in 2007. He obtained his Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of Memphis in 2009 and his Educational Specialist degree from the University of Mississippi in 2013. Heinrich resides in Collierville with his wife, Megan, and their three children, Cantley, Rue, and Caroline, who attend Tara Oaks Elementary School. He will officially assume his role as principal on July 1, 2025.
