Student-Athlete Insurance Information

 We want to ensure our student-athlete families know what coverage is available in case of an injury. Below are answers to the most common   questions.

What insurance is provided for student-athletes?

Student-athletes are covered by two types of insurance:

1. Secondary Accident Insurance (through K&K Insurance) – helps cover costs after your primary health insurance has been billed.

2. Catastrophic Insurance (through TSSAA) – provides additional protection in rare, severe cases.

How do I file a secondary insurance claim?

1. Download the K&K Insurance Claim Form

2.  Complete the form with all required information.

3.  Attach these documents:

   • Itemized medical bills

   • Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your primary insurance company

4. Submit the claim as instructed on the form.

Incomplete forms or missing documents may delay processing.

What is catastrophic insurance?

The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) provides catastrophic insurance for student-athletes in the event of a severe injury.
