Mr. Tom Bailey, Position 4
Email Tom Bailey
After growing up in a military family and living in a number of locations, Mr. Tom Bailey and his family moved to the Town of Collierville in 1997. Mr. Bailey attended Collierville Middle School and would later go on to graduate from Collierville High School in 2003. His wife, Katie Foster Bailey, a longtime Town of Collierville resident since 1987 and Memphis area resident all of her life, also graduated from Collierville High School in 2003. Growing up here and loving this town, they decided to start their family in Collierville. Their children, Tobin and Mary Hollis, are students in Collierville Schools, where they have been for the entirety of their education. From youth sports to Girl Scouts, the Baileys are involved in a number of community organizations, including active members at Living Hope Church. Both Mr. and Mrs. Bailey's parents still call Collierville home, along with all of Mr. Bailey's immediate family. After high school, Mr. Bailey attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he graduated in 2007 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.
Mr. Bailey began his professional career in the transportation industry. He first was employed as a Supply Chain Administrator for Pinnacle Airlines. After Pinnacle, he would go on to work for Canadian National Railroad, where he is still currently employed today after 17 years. Having worked a number of roles with the railroad, he is now the Manager of Road Operations, overseeing the intermodal dray for the company's US based trucking operations.
Mr. Bailey was born with Becker Muscular Dystrophy, a rare progressive disease which causes muscle deterioration and has made him wheelchair bound. Because of this, Mr. Bailey is physically limited in a number of ways he can serve his community, but looks at the Collierville Schools Board of Education as one way he can give back to the town that has given him so much.
