Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)
Federal funds received under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) are used for the following in order to enhance instruction and meet the needs of all students.

Plan and implement high quality student centered programs

Provide professional development

Hire additional staff
Title I – These funds are used to increase student achievement and supplement services provided by state and local funds. Additionally, Title I funds support parent involvement and engagement through activities that support the academic program.
Title II – These funds are used to ensure that all teachers in Collierville Schools are qualified and effective. Professional development activities for core academic subjects are provided for all teachers.
ESL: English as a Second Language
Title III - English as a Second Language (ESL) is a program for delivering services to students who have a primary language other than English. These students are provided with supplemental, scientifically based language instruction to increase English proficiency and student academic achievement.
