Collierville Schools provides homebound instruction to all
K-12 students who are unable to attend school for a physical and/or mental health condition for at least a minimum of ten (10) consecutive school days or longer as diagnosed by a licensed doctor of medicine, such as a physician or a psychiatrist.
Homebound services are seen as a temporary intervention provided by the district to educate students when they are medically unable to attend the traditional school program. Homebound services are not to be used as a “make-up” time for students to complete missed assignments or help students regain missing credits.
Once a determination of eligibility for homebound services is made, the assigned homebound teacher will contact parents/guardians of the homebound student to set up a schedule. More information regarding the homebound process may be viewed in the attachments below.
Please refer to the Collierville Schools Policy 6.711 for more information.
